1965 |
Articles of Incorporation creating Port Arthur Yacht Club, Inc. were signed by 24 charter members on May 18. |
1974 |
Under the direction of Commodore Dan Murphy and through the generosity of George Lohmann, PAYC financed significant improvements to the Pleasure Island Marina. |
1974 |
PAYC secured a 40-year lease from the City of Port Arthur for two fingers in the marina. |
1977 |
PAYC sold debentures to members to construct a $100,000 clubhouse. |
1996 |
The "Aloha Hut" was replaced with a metal-roofed screenhouse. |
2005 |
Hurricane Rita hit Port Arthur and caused significant damage to the marina infrastructure. |
2008 |
Hurricane Ike hit Port Arthur and caused more damage to the marina infrastructure.
